Come to your treatment calm, cool and relaxed. Your body needs to be cool for these treatments to be effective.
4 weeks no UV beds, sunlight and tanning for 4 weeks before and after your treatments as this can interfere with results.
24hrs no steam rooms, sauna rooms, boiling hot showers and baths for 24 hours before and after your treatment.
12hrs pre and post treatment you will need to avoid the gym and/or any vigorous exercise. Your body needs to be calm, cool and relaxed for this treatment to be effective.
Avoid applying any creams, numbing creams, gels. deodorant, oils, perfumes, make up etc on treatment areas on the day of your treatment. You will need to wait 2 weeks after applying any fake tans.
You will need to wait 2 weeks after any botox injections and 4 weeks after any fillers before you book a patch test or session.
No anti-coagulant medication such as warfarin or blood thinners, photosensitive medications, steroids, NSAIDS, and anti-histamines amongst many other medications may interfere with results. You may need to speak to your GP prior to booking your treatments.
Please wait 3 months post pregnancy and breastfeeding. Periods, polycystic ovaries, menopause, and a hysterectomy, any hormonal changes and hot flushes can interfere with your treatments. Please get in touch.
Please contact us prior to booking if you have any medical conditions or hormonal changes that may interfere with your treatments. We apologise if we refuse your treatments but your safety and wellness is our top priority.
Please come to your treatments calm, cool and relaxed. Your skin needs to be cool to avoid risk of burns.
Please come to your treatments wearing loose fitting clothes that allow your skin to breathe easily after treatment. Avoid wearing jewellery, watches and anything metal such as belt buckles may have to be covered over.
Shards of ice can disperse up to 30cm away from the treatment site. You will be provided with goggles if the treatment area is close to your eyes. Please wear them at all times throughout your treatment.
Often described as a little stingy or an elastic band flick, luckily treatments are very quick and range from 5 seconds to 60 seconds.
Photos will be taken prior and post treatment and only shared with you. This is to track your progress and legally cover us for insurance purposes. We will not post them on social media without your permission.
No vigorous exercise and gyms for 12 hours after your treatment. Keep your skin calm, cool and relaxed.
If a skin patch or adhesive dressing has been placed over the treatment area, please take this off after 24hrs-48hrs. The transparent patch will not peel off like a plaster, you will need to stretch a corner away from itself to take it off. Allow the treatment area to breathe.
The treatment area may blister and this is perfectly normal following cryotherapy treatments. Please do not pop it! If it bursts on its own and weeps, then you can clean the area with an alcohol wipe or water and mild cleanser, apply a thin layer of antiseptic cream and if necessary, you can apply an adhesive bandage. Please allow it to heal naturally over the 4 weeks. Please contact us if you need any dressings following your appointment.
Treatment area may be dry, itch and/or crust over and shed over 7-10 days. Please avoid scratching and picking the area, and allow it to naturally heal over the 4 weeks.
You may experience temporary side effects such as redness, soreness, swelling and or blistering, this is all perfectly normal and should subside within 72hrs to 4 weeks.
Areas of darker patches of skin may get darker for up to 7-10 days but this can continue. Please avoid the sun and apply SPF30+
Headaches are possible following your cryotherapy treatment area, especially if we are working in the forehead area. This should subside within a couple of hours, please contact us if this continues.
Any hair follicles in the treatment area may get damaged and subsequently hair in this area may not grow back causing alopecia. This will be discussed within your treatment as we will not be held responsible if you consent and continue togo ahead with your treatment.
In very rare circumstances, the treatment area may cause nerve damage, scarring and tissue changes. Please contact us following your appointment in the event of any extreme reactions.
Please contact us, your pharmacist, your GP and/or your dermatologist in the event that you suffer with any extreme reactions, any signs of infection or if healing doesn't progress within 4 weeks. You may have some underlying medical condition that may prevent you from receiving any further treatments.
